Outpatient Psychiatric Services
Counseling services that are provided in an office setting, including
psychiatric evaluation and medication management. These services are
available at several locations in Fayette and surrounding counties.
Family Driven Services (FDS) and
Family Support Services (FSS)
FSS
provide reimbursement for certain expenses that are necessary to your
child's treatment, like babysitting, respite, recreational activities and
more. FDS provides an allocation to assist families of individuals with
developmental disability in meeting their needs.
Services purchased can include sitter/aide; respite; homemaker; adaptive
equipment; and recreational/social activities.
Advocacy/Support Programs
Fayette County offers a variety of supportive service programs. The
Mental Health Association of Fayette County offers the
Representative Payee Program for people having difficulty managing social
security benefits. The Consumer/Family Satisfaction Team assures that
consumers of mental health services and families of consumers are receiving
quality service. Parent Involved Network advocates for families and children
when children have emotional or behavioral disorders and are in need of
mental health or special education services.
Crisis Intervention
Crisis Intervention provides crisis counseling over the phone or in the
office. Counselors are available to speak with adults, children, or family
members who are feeling overwhelmed, frightened or helpless. The crisis

Home-Based Services
Individuals with developmental
disability and their families can receive in- home assistance
in meeting the needs of their special needs family member. Services can
include sitter/aide services, respite and home adaptations.
Family-Based Mental Health Services
Family therapy services are provided in the child and family's home by a
team of professionals trained in family therapy. The team works with
everyone in the family to improve relationships and to help the family take
advantage of other resources in their community. The team can also help the
child and family addressing problems at school.
